When Data Teams Are Undermined & Not Trusted, Everyone Loses!

❌ Too many data teams work under constant pressure. They do not lack skills; In practice, their work does not fit the mind framework of stakeholders in power

It starts subtly 👇

➡️ Insights dismissed because they don’t confirm preconceived opinions.
➡️ Complex data work treated like “just make me a dashboard.”
➡️ Professionals reduced to ticket-takers rather than strategic partners.

👉 Organizations claim “data-driven decisions are a priority”, but when data challenges the narrative, retaliation is quiet:

❌ Projects are deprioritized, credit redirected, and voices silenced.
❌ Those ensuring data quality or raising governance concerns feel punished, not valued

This creates attrition and frustration among skilled professionals who simply want to deliver trustworthy insights.

—> When stakeholders undermine data teams, the truth itself is lost!

I have built and led data teams, seen their potential, and watched their voices be sidelined. That is why I stand for treating data professionals as trusted partners, not “order takers” or “ticket recorders”

What do you think?

▶️ Have you seen data teams undermined because their insights didn’t fit someone’s story?
